JavaOne turns down Drools presentations

Edson submitted two Drools presentations to JavaOne this year and I submitted one, entitled "Declarative programming with rules, processes and cep" - all where refused. So yet again JavaOne will be littered with talks on various web frameworks of the month, but nothing on a really interesting, innovative and increasingly important area of technology in the Enterprise. Oh well better luck next year :(

  1. did you remember to feed the javaOne dragon. I'm sure a check for a few thousand would help :)

joking aside, JavaOne's review process is a bit of an mystery.

  2. I didn't even bother attempting to submit this year, after getting a few refusals in the past. It seems Sun is not big on rule-based programming. Perhaps it is too far from the procedural Java heart-land?

  3. You 'll have to stick with Javapolis. It's closer to home and there's plenty of Belgian beer :)

  4. You should have offered to show the NetBeans interface !!!

  5. I think paulv hit the target. port the IDE to netbeans and magically, SUN will grant you stage time !!!!

  6. Very very disappointing.

Perhaps if it was a netbeans plugin, renamed to be Sun Java Enterprise iPlanet Community fish release N.

  7. I don't blame SUN though. They see JBoss and Eclipse as a competitor, so it's not in their best interest.

  8. Maybe you could post the abstracts or the presentations drafts here. I bet we'll all be more than happy!
